Bay of Islands Airport
This project involved a new airport terminal building to allow for increased passenger numbers. The new terminal has more space for arrivals and departures, state-of-the-art baggage screening and a luggage collection area.
It features a modern exterior and incorporates a living wall and artwork from local artists. Airzone partnered with A-Line Construction who delivered this project on time and within budget.
We tendered on the specification and drawings as supplied by the clients’ consultants. During the tender process it became apparent that we could provide a solution that was more energy efficient, had longer equipment warranties and also provided significant cost savings.
Our design concept was agreed in principal and we completed the detailed design for the project.
The overall system description required general ventilation, kitchen exhaust, toilet exhaust and fresh air systems. The air conditioning components around the building included ducted air conditioning for the Air New Zealand, general operations and Far North Holding offices; plus hi-wall split wall systems for specific areas.
Our installation was completed to our normal high standards and the systems continue to perform as designed and intended. The project was a great success and has provided a wonderful building for our client and the Northland community.
