Ministry of Education Whangarei

The Ministry of Education Whangarei provides Education services and support to the Northland region. This includes Learning Support for students, including the Communication Service, Incredible Years Programme, Ongoing Resource Scheme (ORS), Physical Disability Service, School High Health Needs Fund (SHHNF), and Severe Behaviour Service. It is also responsible for property maintenance of schools in the region.

The Ministry of Education were looking for a new building design to meet their requirements and to suit their future needs.

Airzone were engaged by A-Line Construction at the very early stages of the project to come up with system concepts for all the HVAC services to suit the new 2000m2 building. Our solution had to meet or better the Government Standard Building Performance Specification.

The system description included tempered fresh air ventilation operating off VSD’s to maintain the required CO2 levels in the spaces, toilet exhaust systems, general exhaust systems and air conditioning systems all operating off the Building Management System (BMS).

The BMS manages all air conditioning systems, monitors system faults, set-points, room temperatures and includes a fast warm up. There is intuitive user programming for public holidays and different schedules for days of the week and months of the year and a graphical user interface via web browser which is accessible by remote internet access.
